Studio North History
In 1903 the local Methodist congregation decided to build a new church. One member, Mrs. Joseph Stevenson, purchased and then donated one acre of land on the corner of Burtch and North roads. On this ground was a building that for many years had been a tavern with a bar connected. The pulpit of the church was built over the spot where the bar stood.

On March 8th, 1904, the men of the community started to tear down the tavern, using the lumber to build horse sheds to accommodate twelve teams. The church building was started May 1st using ten inch thick cement blocks. The stone work was completed September 3rd. The interior walls were plastered and the ceilings were metallic. The entire cost of the lot, church
and horse sheds was $4,250.
December 10th Central Methodist Church was completed and the first services were held. In 1912 the interior of the church was refinished in wood. Then in 1937-38 a church house was built and connected to the church, thus affording Sunday school rooms, a kitchen and room for youth activities.
The making of Studio North
In 1994 Greg and Kathy purchased the building formally known as Central Methodist Church. In the 1970's the Lions had gutted most of the church's interior, then remodeled and used the building as an event hall. By the late 1980's the building had fallen into severe disrepair. On December 10, 1994 (ninety years to the day the church opened) Greg and Kathy began a massive three year renovation project. The finished building was renamed Studio North and became home to Greg and Kathy as well as Gregory A.D.
